Course Creation For Writers
Put your storytelling talent to work.
The classic creative dilemma: you want to devite more time to your craft, but you need an income.
The solution: online course creation.
You’ve heard that online courses are a fast-growing business. Other creatives are making evergreen income from their courses. But creating a course sounds really complicated. You’re a writer, not a techie. You don’t know if course creation is for you. You don’t know where to start. That’s where we come in!
Creating online courses is a great fit for authors seeking to earn income while expanding their reach and furtherting their writing career.
Why online courses?
Ease: teaching is something that most writers are naturally good at.
Writing career: Having an online course positions you as an authority and an expert and can lead to other opportunities.
Scaleable: Unlike editing or proofreading services, coaching, freelance writing, or other gigs that are “by the hour,” you can sell your courses to thousands of people without much more time or effort.
-Having more time to spend on what you LOVE: your writing
-Building a product that can keep making you money for years to come with little added effort
-Regularly selling something that makes you 10x or more what a book sale can
– Knowing that you’re helping and inspiring people
– Connecting with more people (including possible readers!) than you ever thought possible
-Using your storytelling abilities for good
Sounds pretty great, right?

Part of my hesitation when it came to creating online courses had to do with my fear of appearing in front of the camera. So I built a course to help others who felt like I did. It’s available as a standalone course but you’ll get it for free when you join “Course Creation for Storytellers.”
How’s this for a story?
I’ve been a writer for most of my life. I’ve also been a radio host and a professor, I have a weekly podcast, and I run a writing group. Sounds pretty busy, right? Oh, and I have two kids and a dog. Let me take you back to 2017. I had moved to a rural area with a lower cost of living so I could devote more time to creativity. Low cost of living doesn’t mean free. I still needed an income, and that ended up meaning a full-time job running a retail store and doing interior design. That didn’t leave a whole lot of time or energy to write. OK, honestly, that’s a total understatement. Let’s be honest: I was heading straight towards full-on burnout. I was exhausted, frustrated, moody, and couldn’t concentrate on anything. My friends and family started to notice. My energy was way off. But even worse, I stopped writing every day.
I couldn’t continue like that. I knew I needed to revisit my strategy. Writing and storytelling are my passion. Though I loved the shop and the design work, those were things I had planned on doing mostly for the money, but they were taking up most of my time. Not to mention, they weren’t making me that much money. And they were taking up time and energy that could be better spent writing.
We all need to make money. But when your work is meant to fuel your passion but ends up burning you out instead, that’s not sustainable.
So this is what I did: I examined everything I was doing, and I saw a trend. I love to write, but I also love to share information with others. Basically, I like to teach. I’m willing to bet that, if you’re a writer, not only are you a born storyteller, but you’re a born teacher as well, whether you have as much experience in it as I do, or not. I decided that online courses might be the solution to my problems.
I got super excited. At last I had a plan. I built Spalmorum, my online platform for writers, and started to develop my first online course, “From Aspiring Writer to Successful Author.” And man, was it hard! Despite all the research I did, feeling my way through the process took way more time and effort than I had thought it would. I spent thousands of hours Googling everything under the sun and buying online courses and piecing together disparate pieces of information, but you know what?
Most, if not all, tutorials and courses on course building are aimed at people who are more business oriented and less… shall I say… creative than I am!
However, the hard work paid off. I got my course off the ground. I now have an evergreen product that can make me money and also support my writing and my author platform for years to come. It’s a win-win.
Now, I want to show you how to create a course of your own, in way less time, with way less mistakes! Unlike anything else out there, this caters to your unique strengths as a writer and as a creative and goes the extra mile to help you to break through the resistance and the fears and to create a truly transformational course. And dare I say, our storytelling training might even improve your writing. I know it improved mine. Join me and get ready to transform, and be transformed!
Ready to build a transformational course that supports your writing career?
I thought that building an online course was something that sounded great, but would be impossible for someone like me… a creative, a writer, an introvert. This taught me that I not only am good at this, but that I can do anything!
I was intimidated by everything having to do with course creation. I’m not great with technology and it just seemed like a huge undertaking. This course broke it all down for me into manageable pieces. I’m so glad I took the chance.
For me, the biggest payoff, other than the income I’m starting to see from my course, is the feedback from my students. I’ve been able to touch their lives, and in turn, many of them have become superfans who promote my writing to everyone they know.
Of course you have questions! Deciding to take a course like this is a decision you don’t take lightly. If you have a question that isn’t covered here, please feel free to reach out to us.
How is this course different?
What if I don't have any ideas for what I could teach?
What if this course doesn't work for me?
How long will I have access to the materials?
How do I register?
How tech savvy do I need to be?
How long will this take? Will it take away from my writing?
Here's the big question: how much does it cost?
