Module 1
Aspiring vs Successful
In this module, we talk about the difference between an aspiring writer and a successful author. This is an important concept to understand before we go on to the rest of the course. You’ll be given some key questions to ask yourself before you embark on your writing journey, figure out what kind of written work you should produce, and we’ll start planning for success!
Module 2
Writer’s block
In this module, we talk about the four elements of writer’s block and how they affect writers. It’s time for some radical honesty! You’ll take the quiz and start to get real about why you really haven’t been following your writing dreams, and you’ll start to feel better about breaking through writer’s blocks!
Module 3
Feeling inspired?!
Inspiration is key for writers, but often, when we get discouraged, overwhelmed, or burnt out, we feel we lose that spark. It is absolutely normal to not feel inspired sometimes- but it definitely doesn’t help our writing! In this module, we’ll be figuring out where your muse ran off to, and how to get her back.
Module 4
Information block
No one is born knowing how to write and publish a book. (OK, maybe some people are, but I don’t know them!) Sometimes, feeling that you don’t know key information can lead to feeling hopeless and stuck– there’s just so much to know. This module will lay out exactly what you do and don’t need to know, and will help you to feel that this whole “being an author” thing is something you can absolutely figure out.
Module 5
Motivate me!
As a writing coach, I help keep people accountable. But I can’t motivate them to write. What I CAN do is help writers find the kind of unstoppable internal motivation that will help get them productive for the duration of this writing project, and into the next. We’ll get getting some actionable tips that tap into the science of productivity.
Module 6
It’s all about the ego
One of the reasons writing, publishing, and marketing a book is so hard is that it feels like you are producing a piece of you. Putting yourself out there, in such a vulnerable position, is scary! And even more so if you let your ego trip you up. Even if you don’t feel like you have a “big ego,” your ego can play tricks on you and mess with your mindset. This module will help you to get all of that under control!
Module 7
Stop making excuses
Excuses. we’ve all made them. But if you keep making them, you’ll never get anything done. You might have fooled yourself into thinking that your excuses were in fact reasons, and in this module, we’ll learn to tell the difference between excuse and reason, as well learning about some of the most common excuses and where they come from. You’ll also learn an amazing hack that helps you to poke holes in event the “best” excuse, instantly!
Module 8
Mindset matters.
In an industry with a ton of competition and many gatekeepers, the biggest difference between the successful author and the one who never reaches their dream is not about talent, or who you know. It’s about mindset. Developing and fostering the proper mindset will get you further than you ever thought possible and can bring you the kind of “luck” that’ll make all the difference in your publishing success.

The nitty-gritty
What does it take to write and publish a book? It’s not rocket science, but it is pretty much a formula. Instead of worrying about how complicated the process of writing and publishing a book is, check out this module and get a breakdown, step by step, of what you need to do. You’ll also learn about the best-seller formula, the science behind which characteristics make a book more likely to sell well.
Module 10
The scary part (marketing!)
This is the sad truth: many authors write great books, but they’ll never see the light of day or gain traction because marketing your book and building an author platform is THAT scary. In this module, we’ll take the guesswork out of building an author platform and take the “ick” factor out of promoting your book. Writers may feel conflicted about it, but the author platform is one of THE key elements of writing success and after going through this module, you’ll be ahead of the game.
Module 11
The 3 magic tools
In this final module, you’re going to learn how to activate all of the valuable lessons that you’ve learned with three tools for writing success that are so good, they’re like magic! This inspirational conclusion will leave you feeling transformed and ready to finish and publish that book.

The writer Joseph Epstein famously claimed that 81 percent of Americans feel that they have a book in them. That would be about 261 million people at any given point.
